Psychics and Spirituality Archangels An Archangel is a superior or higher-ranking angel. The primary duty of the archangels is to carry out the Will of God, as it relates directly to humankind. Archangels are found in a number of religious traditions, including Christianity, Islam, Judaism and Zoroastrianism (state religion of various Persian empires). The angels that appear in Scripture are never described as having wings. In fact, in several passages, the people who are visited by angels do not realise these messengers from God are not ordinary men until it is revealed later to them. There are four Archangels that are especially assigned and devoted to the planet earth ; Raphael, Michael, Gabriel and Auriel. Each has their own responsibilities but they can also perform the functions of the others and there is much overlapping. Each of the archangels is associated with one of the four elements, a colour, astrological sign and a compass direction i.e. north, south, east or west. Through examining each of these qualities we can find which Archangel or archangels, resonates more closely with you. As a result you can determine which of the them you have the easiest access to. For example the great archangel who rules your astrological sign will be the one who you most closely resonate with. For example if your were born under the sign of Pisces, you will resonate most closely with Gabriel. Another way to determine which of the great archangels you resonate most closely with is to look at the vowels in your name. By examining the vowels in your first name and finding which one is most strongly pronounced indicates which archangel you most closely resonate with. For example if your name is Heather, the 'e' is the most strongly pronounced vowel and so you most closely resonate with Raphael.
